WordPress 3.1 saw a change in the way that custom fields are displayed in posts and pages. Former versions of WordPress simply included this field below the title and body areas of posts and pages by default but with 3.1 they disappeared!
At first I was concerned that the new version of WordPress simply didn’t include custom fields but considering how useful they are I knew I had to be wrong. Well, here’s the solution, In order to see the custom fields area of posts and pages in WordPress you just need to use the “Screen Options” tab at the top right corner of the screen next to “Help”.
- On a post or a page in WordPress find the Screen Options tab in the upper right corner and click it
- A drop down menu will appear with a checkbox next to “Custom Fields”
- When you click that checkbox the custom fields options will appear lower down on the page!
